I used to really enjoy watching the TODAY show in the morning while crunching cereal and drinking coffee. But anymore the show has become this weird formula tabloid show. It seems every story has the same intro: “They were a normal family living the good life in the suburbs until the unthinkable happened.” Here they insert the description of the disappearance/kidnapping/robbery/murder/infidelity/chimp attack. There follows 6 or 7 minutes of interviewing anyone and everyone about every gruesome detail. I guess I have to remember that the morning news is a business and this is the formula that sells.
