The cameras of my life. The upper left is my Grandfather Alexander Maitland Comb’s from the 1910’s. Upper right is my first camera an Argus 127 that I got for my 10th birthday. Lower right my 1974 Nikon Nikkormat FTN 35mm with a Nikkor 1.2 50mm lens. Back in the day I did Kodak Tri-X 400 and my own darkroom. Now I’m digital with a Nikon Z6 and Nikon D3300.
The Early Days of The Internet
I bought a copy of the book “HTML for Dummies” and started making Web sites. My JokeWallpaper.com site went online September 10, 1995. It was one of the first humor sites online, and the top trafficked from ’95 thru ’01. You can see an archived version at http://www.JokeWallpaper.com
Internet Start Ups
I started out in local radio and TV news then discovered the Internet. I’ve been involved with nine different startups. Some defunct ones you may have heard of include iProperty, Vontoo, and ChaCha Search. I co-founded SteadyServ which is going strong. This video was produced by Intel, a technology partner. It’s a little dated but gives you the idea. If you sell draft craft beer you should check out iKeg and Pourcast. All my other professional stuff is on my LinkedIn.
The boy in the black and white striped shirt is me. My first grade school picture. Love that shirt.
